Michael and I are shelling fresh crabs for the traditional Grove Christmas Soup, made up of tomato soup, Sherry, cream of mushroom soup, curry, crab meat, etc... I look forward to it every year on Christmas Eve.
We believe that our being as creations of a Heavenly Father who intended the lives He created to be unhindered channels through which His life would be conveyed, should live in response to the sacrifice that He made through His Son Jesus. Through the prophet Micah, God made it clear what He requires of us; to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with Him.
To do justly, we are to live with a reverence for the life He created that comes from an awareness of the intricacy and sacredness of His Love which conceived it. To love mercy, we must be aware that we have not done justly and have been subject to the consequences of our iniquities but have received the mercy of Christ, paying the deadly price of our choices. Jesus was the perfection of God in flesh, yet He paid the consequence of our evil choices for us. In response, we want to Love that mercy that frees us from the Ultimate consequence of our sin, humbly acknowledging our need for God's awesome sacrifice through His Son, Christ Jesus so that His Holy Spirit can take over our lives and lead us into conveying that mercy to others.
We believe that we are always to be dressed for service, and we desire to give our first fruits -- life energy -- to God, so that He can use us to do justly to our brothers and sisters, building them up for the sake of God's Kingdom and to extend His mercy to those who do not yet know Him for the sake of His Kingdom.
